Orienteering

Orienteering is a sport for adults of all ages and children down to 5 years. The aim is to navigate in sequence between control points marked on a unique orienteering map and decide the best route to complete the course in the quickest time. At the control posts you may find questions relating to the area and much more. It does not matter how young, old or fit you are, as you can run, walk or jog the course and progress at your own pace.

The route that the Strandhotellet has coordinated with one of local runners starts in the beautiful forest Almindingen, from the idyllic lake Åremyre via Pykekkulle Kær to another lake named Kohullet via the rift valley Store Rævegænge and then past the castle ruins Lilleborg and Gamle Borg. The route ends at Christianshøj from where there is a fantastic view of lake Åremyre.
